Industrial Bedroom Design Ideas - Page 1 of 9

If you dream of a cool, calm, and urban-loft feeling bedroom oasis, then an industrial bedroom design is written in the stars for you. Industrial design isn’t just bare pipes, concrete floors and Edison bulbs; it’s sleek, it’s modern and surprisingly can be very warm feeling in a bedroom. Though the staples of this style stem from old warehouse architecture and factory interiors, it has evolved over the years to include other styles effortlessly blended. One style you’ll see often blended with Industrial design is minimalist style. This can be a beautiful combination of styles for a bedroom, as minimal design style can create a streamlined look, clutter-free decor sensibility and a color palette that aids in rest. When looking at industrial bedroom ideas, you’ll notice a common trend of darker and muted colors, like varying shades of grey, pops of white, and structures in black. This can also include more sleek forms like dark wood beds. In an industrial bedroom, you wouldn’t opt for an ornate canopy bed with carved wood but would look for a bed where the mere structure and material do the talking. A platform bed that is low to the ground offers a zen approach to this style bedroom, and unfussy but cozy layers of bedding add the much-desired comfort of a bedroom.Lighting is also a very important element when it comes to planning your industrial bedroom layout. A bedroom should have layers of lighting, including natural lighting if possible. You’ll want to avoid harsh lighting and opt for softer lighting, and arrange lights where you need them. If you read in bed or like to have a dimmer light to turn on when you go to sleep or wake up, include a lamp or sconce beside the bed. In an industrial bedroom design, this could include a sculptural metal table lamp near the bed or even hanging a single Edison bulb in a makeshift pendant above the sides of the bed. If you have an overhead light, consider switching it out for a more industrial fixture that matches the materials used in the space.Though you may see that in most industrial-style rooms, there isn’t carpet, this doesn’t mean you have to forego a soft floor. When you get out of bed, the last thing you want is for your bare feet to hit the cold ground. Try adding a hide rug or simple solid wool rug under your bed for a softer landing and a bit of texture! These are just some ideas to get you started, but for more please enjoy our library of industrial bedroom design inspiration!
