Dear Modsy Customers,

We are extremely grateful to our wonderful customers, team and designers for our many years together building the business. We had a big dream and we dared to reach for it, but unfortunately we could no longer sustain the business model and the parent company of Modsy had to close. Endings are not easy, but this ending does not erase our pride in what we created and the hard work that went into building our business. We are grateful that, amidst a difficult time, we have found a way for the IP and technology to live on in a new capacity within a new entity. We hope to share more about this next chapter soon.

Please take note that Pencil and Pixel, Inc. dba Modsy has ceased operations and Pencil (assignment for the benefit of creditors), LLC (“Assignee”) was assigned the assets on July 6th, 2022.   A General Assignment for the benefit of the creditors (ABC) is sometimes considered an alternative to a federal bankruptcy and in which the company (“Assignor”) transfers all of their assets to a new legal entity (“Assignee”) to maximize the value of the assets and distribute proceeds to creditors.

Thank you for your patience as we work through this process. 

Your designs will remain in your studio and you will continue to have access to them via your Modsy.com account for the foreseeable future. If or when this changes, we will be sure to let you know.

Online in your studio, you can save your design images offline/outside of the Modsy portal by right clicking on the photos and saving to your computer.

If you are interested in being connected directly with a Modsy Designer outside of the Modsy platform for future work, please check out our Designer Directory.

If you have already received a design and would like to purchase those items, here are some suggestions:

  • For retail items such as Wayfair, West Elm, Crate & Barrel/CB2, and Pottery Barn, you should be able to search for those items directly on the retailer websites.
  • For non-retail vendor items, doing a reverse google image search of a picture of the item should bring up other websites that carry it. 
  • FYI Wayfair carries many of the brands that Modsy carried, under different names. 

In addition, for items that we have a direct purchase link for, we have linked out on the product description page on Modsy.com. If we have a direct link to purchase an item, you can click the button “View Product Details” and it will take you to the site where you can purchase the product.

Although we will not be able to accept any new purchase requests at this time, we will be working to fulfill existing merchandise orders. Please expect delivery delays of 3-5 weeks beyond the listed ETA. To view your open orders, please go to the Order History page in your Modsy account.

We are experiencing high volumes of inquiries and are working hard to get back to everyone; if you have follow-up questions, you can reach out to  but please allow up to 5 business days for a response.

In some instances we will be able to return or cancel items for direct retailer store credit (ie Wayfair or West Elm), but some of our direct vendor items will not be able to be returned or canceled. Please email us at hello@modsy.com to inquire about your return and cancellation options.

If you have a problem with an existing order, please email hello@modsy.com and someone will assist you.

Someone should be in touch with you regarding your open issue, however, you can reply to the last email you received from the agent you were working with at any time to request an update. We are working hard to get back to everyone and appreciate your patience as we work through a backlog of tickets due to very high volumes.
