Overview

Inspired by the stunning patterns, colors and crystals that hide within the unassuming geode rock, artist Laura van Horne creates a treasure trove of green- and grey-tinted cross-sections in this intricate abstract composition. Rendered in epoxy resin and ink, the original painting's sheer color and intriguing patterning are brilliantly captured in our giclée print on fine artist paper. Presented with a floating mat and wood frame with a satin charcoal grey finish, the print hangs vertically or horizontally. In creating her work Laura Van Horne samples widely, finding content in "a discarded object, written words or a swatch from my grandmother's dress."
