Overview

Recalling time spent wandering as a child through a thicket of trees that surrounded her home, artist Alexandra White recreates the memory as a hazy stand of trees. Although appearing as a traditional watercolor, the work is the result of an unusual technique by which White applies pools of ink to drafting film, allowing the pigment to traverse across the non-porous surface in unpredictable ways. This giclée reproduction of the original painting is printed on paper and hand signed by the artist. Presented in a single white mat, the print is framed in charcoal-stained wood. Alexandra White earned a bachelor's degree in studio art from Rhodes College in Tennessee.
