And the terracotta material lends a natural, rugged tone to the overall style of this large and noteworthy planter. In versatile gray, it's at once delicate and bold. For indoor use, Unison recommends a liner or tray when used indoors and using moist soil only. Overwatering can cause damage to sensitive surfaces (i.e. wood flooring). These planters have been treated with a waterproof solution however, Terracotta is a natural, porous material and so they are not water safe. For outdoor use, avoid using water in below freezing temperatures. If storing outdoors, Unison recommends placing the pot upside down and off the ground, covered with a waterproof material.
